Kayla Person banked in a runner in the lane with 5.4 seconds left for the game winner as Maryville scored the final 12 points of the game to stun Kentucky Wesleyan 63-62 in the semifinals of the 2013 Deaconess Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament in Evansville, Ind. The Saints, who are the No. 2 seed, advance to play in the GLVC finals for the second straight year and face the winner of the Lewis and Wisconsin-Parkside survivor Sunday at 3:30 p.m. (CT).

Kate Childs added one free throw. Person knocked down a jumper, and
Samantha Robison drained a 3-pointer to pull the Saints to 62-59 with 2:02 to play. The Panthers missed two straight shots, before
Erica Lorton spun on the baseline to score a layup with 45.1 seconds left.
The Maryville defense forced a jump ball but the possession arrow was in KWC’s favor. The Saints committed a foul and sent the Panthers to the line with 13.8 ticks left. KWC missed the one-and-one, and Childs hauled down the rebound. She threw an outlet pass to Person who dribbled down the left side of the lane and rattled in the game-winning points. KWC had a desperation 3-pointer fall short at the buzzer as the Saints continued their sparkling run in the 2013 GLVC Tournament.
Shelby Miller led the Saints with 17 points and hit five 3-pointers in the game. Robison added 11 points, including three triples, and Person recorded 10 points. Childs led the squad with seven rebounds. Lauren Goffinet topped the Panthers with 11 points. The Saints held KWC to 21.4 percent shooting in the second half (6-of-28). The Saints improve to 19-9, while the Panthers slip to 20-8.
