GLVC Quarterfinal match results

The Maryville men's tennis team lost its quarterfinal match at the 2018 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships to No. 45 Lewis 5-1 in Springfield, Mo. The Saints were the No. 3 seed, while the Flyers were the No. 2 seed.
 
The Saints narrowly lost two of the three doubles matches as Lewis grabbed the early momentum. The Flyers won the No. 1 doubles match 8-6 and took the No. 3 doubles match via a tiebreak 9-8. Louis Glaves earned the first point of the day for the Saints as he won his match at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-4. GLVC All-Conference honoree Jack Beuttell-Triggs won his first set at No. 1 singles but was unable to grab another set as the Flyers closed out the win to advance to the semifinals.
 
The Saints had their three-game win streak halted and ended the season 7-8, while the Flyers, who are No. 4 in the region, improve to 12-9.
